Simbly South is a new age south Indian restaurant that serves pure vegetarian, traditional South Indian food with a modern twist. Currently we serve via 2 locations in Mumbai ie. Vile Parle East and Sher e Punjab. We plan to start a few more very soon.
You may call it fusion food but we like to call it simple, tasty yet modern south Indian food. Our customers have always given us great feedback . The Simbly South is the only eating joint of its kind in Mumbai. South Indian cuisine includes the cuisines found in the four southern states of India: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The traditional food of South India is mainly rice based. The similarities among the four states' cuisines include the presence of rice as a staple food, the use of lentils and spices, dried red chilies, fresh green chilies and coconut. The food of South India is famous for being light and low-calorie yet extremely flavorful and appetizing. The cuisine is famous for its wonderful mixing of rice and lentils to prepare lip smacking dosas, vadas, idlis and Oothappam etc. Sambhar and fresh coconut chutney is usually served as an accompaniment to these. South Indian dishes are not just delicious, but also very easily digestible. The best part is that South Indians do not use much oil for cooking their meals. Most South Indian dishes consist of distinct combinations of lentils, spices and vegetables coming together to create aromatic sambhar, rasam, vegetable curry's and yoghurt-based pachadis. When it comes to rice preparations, South Indians are real experts. Their lemon rice, coconut rice, carrot rice and fried rice made by using coconut, curry leaves, urad dal, tamarind, peanuts, chilies, and fenugreek seeds is a savory delight. We pride ourselves on our authentic South Indian cuisine. Apart from the regular set of south indian food we also have a few innovative dishes like Gun Powder Idli, Pulses Dosa, Hyderabadi dosa etc.
